Don’t get me wrong. I like watching “Dyosa,” especially the one actress I really like which I would rather talk about in another post. But this time, I want to talk about the flaws Dyosa have, some of it appear only in the show and some apply to all Philippine fantasy television series. Here goes…

Sam Milby Speaking Tagalog

Maybe some people (especially the girls) would think it is cute. But I think it distracts viewers from the main story. Viewers starts watching the actor as he is and not as what he is portraying to be.

Special Effects

Have you seen Dyosa Tierra (the centaur) walking sideways like a crab? I have, just last. How do you react when you see Dyosa Cielo flying but instead of flying, you can easily tell that the it is the background which is moving? I was actually laughing while seeing it.

Zanjoe Marudo’s Acting

The girls may like him too so I may get more fans enraged, but I have to say that he is better modeling than acting.

Fight Scenes

Okay they have powers and they have to fight closely. But even their powers were not given their own rights. And I also don’t like the dialogue while they are fighting. It’s like they’re in a radio program where they have to tell what they are going to do.

I still have some more like why the mermaids are not talking but there are a lot of bubbles coming from their heads, but I don’t want to elaborate anymore. I think I have sent my point across.

The Fantasy genre is really an exciting thing to watch. But the networks are producing them like they are producing the soap operas without thinking these are two different slices of bread. I can’t help but compare Fantasy series here in the Philippines with those of the foreign ones. I know they have more advanced technology but we can do it if we give more effort. I saw this effort in Panday and Mulawin. I thought it will get better, but it didn’t.

I think networks should stop producing fantasy series if they won’t give justice to them. Viewers are getting tired of them anyway.
