The Commercial Piolo Pascual Should Have Never Done

Why did he do it? Is he low on cash?

I keep hearing these reactions whenever Piolo Pascual’s detergent commercial is played on television.

Joey De Leon and Judy Ann Santos share their “Pride” but their commercials looks fine. Joey De Leon even endorsed a Macho Labandero. But when you see Piolo Pascual singing “Speed Babad,” you just can’t help but knit your browse. (I actually said “ngek” when I saw it.)

Piolo Pascual

Piolo Pascual

Piolo’s other TV commercials includes Smart Buddy, Clear, Ponds, Centrum, San Mig Coffee, Max’s and a host of others.

The Speed commercial connotes four things:

1. He has stooped down his level

Speed is not the leading detergetn brand. He should have done it with Tide instead. It would have given him more credibility as an endorser.

2. It’s a waste of voice talent

Imagine a hunk singing “Ikaw Lamang” and “Kailangan Kita” all of a sudden sing a corny commercial jingle?

3. About his sexual preference

The commercial shows Piolo with a lot of woman around him. But what would you think if someone tells you Piolo has a new detergent commercial? I thought, “Piolo did laundry?”

4. It’s fake

Do you actually think Piolo Pascual washes clothes? Or do you actually think Piolo uses speed?

I know Speed hired Piolo to create a buzz about the product. Yes, it did. However, the downside is on Piolo.

I had not found any video of the commercial. I guess no one wants to upload it because no one wants to watch it, unlike the Sting commercial I have just shared with you.

Being one of piolo’s fans – will surely patronize speed babad. I don’t mind his acceptance of this commercial.

@bianca – Wow, nice to hear from a Piolo fan. I rarely see the commercial nowadays. Maybe that’s because I only watch TV during primetime or maybe not.

Perception is in the eye of the beholder. The moment I learned about his commercial, I asked my sister if she has seen Piolo’s commercial and she said, “yes” I guess they are showing it too in GMA TV. I told her to buy the detergent, being a diehard of Piolo, I support all what he endorses. That’s why they took him to endorse to create a name for that detergent. “Speed” is the detergent brand to watch and wash clothes with. I love you, Piolo. You are the best of the best!

Is he low in cash????????????????

He is one of the top endorsers for 2008. If I am not mistaken he made more than 50 million pesos in endorsements alone.

He might have been offered paid a huge amount of money for endorsing a detergent that is not well known to the public. Come on people, do you think that the manufacturer will get somebody else to endorse that is not well known.

@cibolo – It must have been a really huge offer. However, I think Speed benefited more than Piolo did. Most of the people I heard talk ill of the commercial. So I think majority of the viewers don’t think Piolo should have done it.
